Ananda Chandra College was established in 1942 during the turbulent years of the Quit India Movement. Over the decades since then it has remained at the forefront of all the colleges of North Bengal in size, quality, and performance. This college is now a pioneering seat of higher learning in the entire region of the sub-Himalayan West Bengal. The alumni of the college are now engaged in different academic, administrative, and other important positions in society. Many of them are now contributing to nation-building in their respective capacities. It is a Government Sponsored College affiliated to the University of North Bengal, managed by a Governing Body under the direct control of Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal. We have produced great scientists, administrators, legal luminaries, teachers, political functionaries, and bright professionals.
